The County of SonomaBoard of Supervisors today adopted a resolution with the goal of achieving zerowaste in Sonoma County by 2030, consistent with objectives of the ClimateAction and Resiliency pillar of the County’s Five-Year Strategic Plan to reduceconsumption emissions, conserve energy and decrease methane emissions fromlandfills. If they do not, they will be offered aprovisional ballot, which will be reviewed by the Registrar of Voters Officeafter Election Day to ensure that the voter has not already returned theirvote-by-mail ballot. </span> Read full story

Construction Commences on Solar Canopy System Over Long Term Parking Lot B at Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS)
On Monday, August 16th, the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport commenced construction of a solar photovoltaic (PV) energy system. Developed by solar energy contractor ForeFront Power, the 884 kW solar PV energy project includes a solar PV canopy system over Long Term Parking Lot B. The solar PV canopy will offset the Airport’s greenhouse gas emissions by generating enough clean, renewable electricity to power 100% of Airport operations. Read full story
