County, City to Observe One-Year Anniversary of Wildfires

The County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa will hold a ceremony on October 8, 2018 in observance of the one year anniversary of the Sonoma Complex fires. The ceremony will include a memorial bell ringing to remember those who lost their lives in the fires and provide an opportunity for community grieving, healing and reflection through public chalk art expression. On Monday, September 10th the County of Sonoma will be conducting a SoCoAlert TEST. All Sonoma County residents who are subscribed, and all landlines, will receive a phone call. Sign up at  SoCoAlert.com or call  866-939-0911. On Wednesday, September 12th the County will conduct a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) TEST. This test will involve the communities of Roseland, Healdsburg, Penngrove, Cotati and Glen Ellen. WEA is an emergency message sent through your mobile carrier, similar to Amber Alerts. No registration is required.
