Supervisor Rabbitt elected chair of Sonoma County Board of Supervisors; Hopkins named as vice chair
Supervisor David Rabbitt on Tuesday was elected chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in a unanimous vote of the five-member body. Supervisor Lynda Hopkins was named vice chair, and Supervisor James Gore was named chair pro-tem. Read full story

Sonoma County Homeless Point in Time (PIT) Count 2024 Volunteer Registration Now Open! January 26th!
Friday, January 26th, 2024, is the Sonoma County Homeless Point-in-Time (PIT) Street Count for all populations of persons experiencing homelessness! We will have 5 regional deployment sites located in North County, West County, Sonoma Valley, Petaluma, and Santa Rosa; locations will be announced at a later date. Sonoma County health officials issue cold weather warning
The County of Sonoma today issued a cold weather warning in response to the National Weather Service frost advisory from midnight to 10 a.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service is also predicting sub-freezing wind chill temperatures from Sunday into early Monday. Officials recommend that residents limit time outdoors, as serious medical conditions including hypothermia and frostbite can develop with prolonged cold weather exposure. Read full story
