County of Sonoma to host Town Hall meeting regarding Elderberry Commons transition plan

The County of Sonoma will be hosting a town hall meeting on Monday, May 1 at 6 p.m. to respond to community questions about the transition plan for the Elderberry Commons, formerly known as the Sebastopol Inn. The public will be invited to ask questions during the Zoom-based forum, which will be streamed live on the county’s Facebook page and on YouTube in Spanish. Read full story

The Sonoma County Environmental Health Department, Solid Waste Management Program, acting as the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) is certified by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to enforce state laws and regulations at solid waste sites within its jurisdiction. The Sonoma Transfer Station operates under a Solid Waste Facility Permit issued by the LEA. The operator has filed an application for a Report of Facility Information (RFI) amendment with the LEA. Up to $80,000 in grants to cover late property taxes available to eligible Sonoma County homeowners

The Sonoma County Treasurer-Tax Collector is notifying homeowners that the California Mortgage Relief Program has raised the limit for assistance with delinquent property taxes from $20,000 to a maximum of $80,000 per household. Read full story

At the March 14th Board of Supervisors meeting, our Board approved an ordinance to prohibit new retail fuel stations and prohibit expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure for existing retail fuel stations. This follows in the footsteps of several other jurisdictions in Sonoma County, including Petaluma and Sebastopol, and has been a priority for myself and Supervisor Hopkins (in our work on the Board's Climate Ad Hoc) for some time.
