Labor Negotiations

The County of Sonoma values all employees as its greatest asset. County employees are represented in 21 bargaining units by 11 labor organizations.  All employee organizations are currently under contract and Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with the employee organizations are current and remain in full force and effect.  All of the current MOUs expire between February and July 2023. Sonoma County kicks off safety communications campaign with November 4 webinar

County officials and community partners are inviting the public to take part in a webinar on Friday, November 4 at 3:30 p.m. as part of a new safety communications informational campaign. The webinar will focus on emergency communication with an emphasis on when the public should call 911 and when they should use 211, the county’s information line. Read full story

Sonoma County couple receives statewide award for distinguished service as foster parents

A Fulton couple who fostered more than 140 children over the past two decades have been named the most outstanding foster parents in California by RaiseAChild, a nonprofit that partners with counties to recruit, review and train foster parents. Read full story

County allocates nearly $4.4 million to support climate resiliency projects

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved $4.38 million for a variety of local climate resiliency projects ranging from building up local government electric vehicle infrastructure to a fare-free transit program for youth on public transit and others. The County anticipates being able to use these funds as leverage to bring in roughly $6 million in outside funding. Read full story

Board of Supervisors finalizes purchase of former Bank of America building in Guerneville

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a revised agreement to acquire the former Bank of America building in downtown Guerneville, securing a key satellite office used to deliver government services to residents in lower Russian River communities. Read full story
