Immigration status no longer limits scope of Medi-Cal benefits for adults 50 and older

California residents aged 50 and older who qualify for Medi-Cal are now eligible for full benefits, regardless of immigration status, under an expansion of the state health insurance program for low-income residents, the Sonoma County Department of Human Services announced today. Read full story

Rohnert Park COVID-19 vaccine clinic closes; mobile clinic to open in place

Sonoma County’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Rohnert Park Community Center permanently closed on Thursday, April 28, and will be replaced by a mobile vaccine clinic that will begin serving residents from the Community Center parking lot starting on May 4. Read full story

The Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership has published a guide for home owners new to maintaining a low water use landscape. The guide titled “Water Smart Gardens Maintenance Manual” (Manual) is an easy to use, step-by-step instruction manual on how to care for and maintain the plants, drip irrigation systems, and green features offered in the Water Smart Landscape Design Templates which are free, open source landscape plans. County mailing voter information guides for June primary election

The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office, announced today that voter information guides for the upcoming June 7, 2022, statewide direct primary election, will begin going out in the mail today to all active, registered voters in Sonoma County. Those voters who have previously opted out of receiving such mailings may go to Get Your County Voter Information Guide Online: Opt In/Out form to sign up for this service. Read full story

SoCoAlert emergency alert exercise in Sonoma Valley on Saturday

Sonoma County will be conducting a test of the SoCoAlert emergency notification system at 12 noon on Saturday in the Sonoma area. The County Department of Emergency Management and Sonoma Valley partners including the Springs Municipal Advisory Committee and the Springs Map Your Neighborhood group have collaborated on planning the exercise and conducting outreach in the targeted neighborhoods.
