Notice of Cancellation of Public Hearing: Sonoma County Housing Authority PHA Administrative Plan Update
The Sonoma County Community Development Commission, in its capacity as the governing body of the Sonoma County Housing Authority, has cancelled the public hearing related to the PHA Administrative Plan Update originally scheduled August 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The public hearing will be rescheduled in early 2025. The Sonoma County Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures (AWM) is conducting a preliminary data capture to evaluate potential damage and/or loss sustained during the June 2024 Point Fire in Sonoma County. AWM may contact the reporting party for additional information. Data collected is for AGRICULTURAL CROP RELATED damage and/or loss only. All information is confidential. This information will be used to compile a damage assessment report for Sonoma County in order to qualify Sonoma County for possible federal assistance. Read full story

Red Flag warnings, fire maps, Nixle alerts, evacuation zones…these terms should be familiar to all of us in Sonoma County by now. With our first large wildland fire and our first Red Flag warning of the season both already here, I want to first and foremost thank all of our first responders currently responding to the Point Fire, and say that my heart goes out to all the residents impacted. The Agricultural Pass Program is activated. People with a valid Ag Pass may enter Zone SON-2E2 (Dry Creek Valley) to conduct approved agricultural activities. Be sure to present your ag pass to the peace officer staffing the road closure and follow his/her instructions. Program rules and FAQs are on the County Ag Commissioner website. Read full story
