2023 European Grapevine Moth (EGVM) Detection Trapping Begins
Published: March 01, 2023
This is the time of year that the Sonoma County Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures (AWM), ramps up our pest detection and trapping programs. Starting March 1, 2023, we will once again deploy detection traps for European Grapevine Moth (EGVM). Trap counts and trapping densities have been reduced, but commercial vineyards will continue to be monitored. The trapping program safeguards against the detection of an unknown population of EGVM or detecting a newly introduced population. We appreciate our Sonoma County grape growers allowing our staff onto their properties to place and monitor these traps.
If you have any questions regarding this program, please call us at (707) 565-2371.
