Procedure
The Lower Russian River MAC will hold regular meetings on a rotating schedule throughout the six districts located within the MAC boundaries.
All meetings of the Lower Russian River MAC and its committees and subcommittees shall comply with the Brown Act.
Regular meetings will be held monthly at an established date, time and place open to the public.
Notice of the meeting time and place will be provided to the public and the MAC members at least 72 hours before the meeting.
At each meeting, members of the public will be given the opportunity to directly address items on the agenda before being voted on, and on advisory topics within the jurisdiction of the Lower Russian River MAC.
Placing an Item on the Agenda
River MAC Councilmembers and Ad-Hoc Committees: Any member of the River MAC may request that a matter directly related to River MAC business be placed on the agenda of a regularly scheduled meeting of the River MAC through:
- Oral request made at a regularly scheduled River MAC meeting;
- Written request submitted with supporting documents and information to River MAC Staff and Chair no later than the second Thursday of the off/non-meeting month (Example: The deadline for request for the Thursday, June 20 meeting is Thursday, May 9).
- The River MAC Agenda Setting Ad-Hoc Committee, with consultation with the River MAC bylaws, will determine whether a request is or is not matter directly related to River MAC business.
Members of the public may request that a matter directly related to River MAC business be placed on the agenda of a regularly scheduled meeting of the River MAC through:
- Oral request made at a regularly scheduled River MAC meeting;
- Written request submitted with supporting documents and information to River MAC Staff and Chair no later than the second Thursday of the off/non-meeting month (Example: The deadline for request for the Thursday, June 20 meeting is Thursday, May 9).
- The River MAC Agenda Setting Ad-Hoc Committee, with consultation with the River MAC bylaws, will determine whether a request is or is not matter directly related to River MAC business.
The Fifth District Supervisor or Office, through the bylaws of the Lower Russian River MAC, has the authority to request the River MAC to make recommendations on myriad advisory topics. The Supervisor will strive to meet the deadlines of the agenda setting timeline but requests to reserve the right to add an item to the River MAC agenda as late as seven (7) days prior to the upcoming MAC meeting.
