Trying to find information, forms of assistance can sometimes be confusing. Different agencies can have names that are similar, for example, the County Clerk-Recorder can provide copies of Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates, but does not have anything to do with traffic fines, jury service or court calendars which are handled by the Court Clerk.
Below is a list of agencies commonly needed by people contacting the County Clerk-Recorder's Office.

Divorces and Annulments
Contact the Superior Court Family Law Division for matters relating to Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce), Legal Separation, Nullity, Establishment and Termination of Parental Rights, Child Support, Child Custody and Visitation, Family Support, Adoptions, and Domestic Violence Restraining Orders.
Probate
Wills, conservatorships, guardianships of the state, mental health or LPS petitions, compromise of minors claims, petitions for change of name and special needs trusts.
Sacramento Law Library
Provides free public access to legal information, books and forms. A team of highly skilled professional, technical, and clerical staff works together to provide appropriate resources to meet the legal research and information needs of library patrons.
Council on Aging
Provides information and services only for seniors age 60 plus connecting Sonoma County through a network of services to support our senior community. They are friends, families, and fellow seniors all joining together to deliver meals, assist financial and legal planning programs, and support better aging.
California Department of Public Health
Information on such subjects as how to correct a vital record or amend a birth certificate to reflect a legal name change.
