Residents
Whether you're considering implementing an energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy project, the Climate Action and Resiliency team can help you identify upgrade opportunities including connecting you with financing and rebates options.
Financing Options
Upfront costs are a major barrier to implementing energy efficiency, wildfire safety, seismic strengthening and renewable energy projects like solar and battery storage. The County of Sonoma offers financing for residential properties located in Sonoma County through the Sonoma County Energy Independence Office (SCEIP).
SCEIP financing pays for up to 100% of the project’s costs at a fixed interest rate and is repaid over a 10 or 20-year term as an assessment on your property tax bill. With no money down and an easy qualification process, SCEIP offers a simple way to finance energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation upgrades. To learn more or start an application, visit sonomacountyenergy.org/financing.
Our office will help you determine and compare the financing options available that best meet your needs.
DIY Toolkit
Do you know how much energy and water your home uses? Take charge of your usage with the DIY Energy and Water Savings Toolkit. The kits include tools and information to perform home upgrade projects that include weather stripping for air leaks, monitoring electrical usage, finding water leaks and much more. Toolkits are available at all 12 Sonoma County Library branches. Library card holders can check out a kit for up to 21 days.
