Road Maintenance Update 1-11-16
Published: January 11, 2016
The tree contractor will be working on Lakeville Road today between State Highways 116 and 37, south of Petaluma – 9 am to 3 pm. One lane traffic controls with long delays can be expected during working hours, so alternate routes are suggested. The work schedule for the rest of this week will be day to day and dependent on the weather.
Road crews in Sonoma and Cotati responded to down trees this past Saturday at separate locations. In the Sonoma area, a large tree fell across Schultz Road off Lawndale Road. The road was closed between 10 am and 2 pm. At 7 pm, crews responded to a down tree on Piezzi Road between Occidental Road andHall Road west of Santa Rosa.
Potential wet weather is in the forecast every day this week, with a moderate storm expected Tuesday night and Wednesday. The majority of road crews will be filling potholes, cleaning culverts and storm drains, and cutting roadside vegetation this week. The Annapolis crew will be blading rock from slides off Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road and Annapolis Road. We have two Vactor trucks out this week, one working the north county area with the Healdsburg crew and a second in the west county area with the Guerneville crew. Both will be cleaning plugged culverts. CDF will be assisting road crews with roadside brush cutting along Woolsey Road Tuesday and Wednesday, and Valley Ford Road Wednesday only.
The Bridge crew will be repairing guard rails on Pepper Road at Mecham Road early this week. The Culvert crew will be out placing steel plates at location where storm water erosion at failing culverts are starting to sink the roadway. These locations will be clearly marked with signs and barricades, and will be scheduled for repairs once permits are obtained.
