Housing Production Agenda
Sonoma County lost 5,200 homes in the October firestorms, compounding an existing housing crisis. Due to challenges with rebuilding and the need for more housing in urbanized areas, recovery must encompass both replacing lost homes and building additional homes affordable to workers, while providing broad economic resiliency and driving climate adaptation through shared leadership. In short, we need renewal. The Community Development Commission is pursuing new policy and financing tools to expedite the creation of housing in Sonoma County to meet the demand pre and post fire.
