Sonoma County Homeless Coalition 2025-2026 Local Homelessness Services Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA)

On behalf of the Sonoma County Homeless Coalition, we are pleased to release the 2025-2026 Local Homelessness Services NOFA. Please note that funding amounts are not yet know but approximately $5.5 million is expected to be available in this NOFA. 2025 Sonoma Homeless Point-in-Time Count Volunteer Registration Now Open!

We are looking for volunteers to help with this year’s count! Friday, January 31, 2025 is the 2025 Sonoma Point-in-Time Count for all populations of person’s experiencing homelessness. The Count is a requirement for receiving federal homeless assistance funds and provides critical data used to understand homelessness locally and to support strategic decisions about our programs.

Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Community Care Expansion Preservation Funds

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services (Department) is pleased to invite you to respond to a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Community Care Expansion Preservation Funds. The linked NOFA outlines the information necessary to understand the competitive selection process and the required documentation necessary for the submission of applications. All interested proposers must meet the requirements specified in the NOFA. Approximately $728,439 in funding is available.

Development underway for permanent supportive housing project at George’s Hideaway

Demolition has begun at George’s Hideaway, the former tavern and restaurant in west Sonoma County, making way for permanent supportive housing. The project at George’s Hideaway, located along Highway 116 in Guerneville, involves the creation of 21 units of permanent supportive housing and a navigation center.

Memorial to recognize 60 lives lost in Sonoma County’s unhoused community

On Dec. 20, one day before National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, HomeFirst and Sonoma County Department of Health Services will host a memorial to honor individuals who lost their lives over the last year while living without housing in Sonoma County. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Arlene Francis Center, 99 6th St., Santa Rosa. The space is being provided by FS Global, and Community Foundation Sonoma County granted the needed funding to host the memorial.

Sonoma County Health Officer issues order requiring health care facility staff to wear masks

Given the rising risk of respiratory virus-related illnesses, such as COVID and flu, Sonoma County’s Interim Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith has issued an order requiring health care personnel to mask when in patient care areas. The health order will be in effect throughout the remaining respiratory virus season, from Nov. 18 through April 30.
