NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held in the City of Petaluma on November 3, 2020, and that the following measure(s) will be submitted to the voters:

City of Petaluma Local Recovery, Emergency Preparedness, and Essential Services Measure. To maintain emergency health/wildfire/natural disaster preparedness; rapid 911 emergency response; fire protection services/firefighting equipment; well-trained community police officers; streets/pothole repair; clean/safe public areas; support for local businesses/jobs; and other city services; shall the City of Petaluma adopt a measure establishing a 1¢ sales tax, providing approximately $13,500,000 annually until ended by voters, requiring audits, citizen oversight, and all funds spent locally? | ||

NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that any written arguments for or against the measure(s) to be submitted to the voters must be filed with the Office of the City Clerk, 11 English St, Petaluma. The deadline for filing an argument is August 17, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Arguments must be accompanied by a Statement of Accuracy, available from the City Clerk, signed and dated by the author(s). Arguments shall not exceed 300 words.
NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that if an argument in favor of and an argument against the measure(s) are submitted, copies will be mailed to the respective authors in order that they may submit a rebuttal argument. Rebuttal arguments must also be accompanied by a Statement of Accuracy, signed and dated by the author(s). The deadline for filing a rebuttal argument is August 27, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words.
Voting locations will be open on November 3, 2020, Election Day, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, voting locations will also be open for limited times on the three days prior to Election Day. Specific hours for those days will be announced closer to Election Day.
