Annual Enrollment Dates:

Employees, Extra Help and Retirees - March 24 - April 11th

Elections made during the 2025-2026 Benefits Annual Enrollment period are effective June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026.

Making Changes?

Employees and Extra Help will be able to make changes in Employee Self Service between March 24 - April 11, 2025.
To view your current benefit elections and enrolled dependents, login to https://ess.sonoma-county.org/.

Retirees making a change must complete a Retiree Enrollment/Change form and submit to the HR Benefits Unit. Annual Enrollment change forms will only be accepted between March 24th - April 11th.

Employee Assistance Program

EAP provides up to six sessions with a licensed counselor to provide guidance and support to help you and your family manage daily stresses, grievance, traumatic events and develop fulfilling relationships both personally and professionally. EAP is available to all County of Sonoma employees and their family members.

CareCounsel Health Advocacy

CareCounsel's Health Advocacy program is a special benefit sponsored by the County that can help you understand and effectively navigate your health benefits.

Mid-Year Enrollment Changes

Have a qualifying Mid-Year Event? Life and employment changes may affect your health benefit options. Find out if you have a qualifying event, per the IRC Section 125, that will allow you to make changes to your benefits.
