Engineers and Scientists of California ESC Labor Negotiations Summary
The County of Sonoma and ESC met on 3/4/2019 for their 9th session. The bargaining teams worked through ground rules for the bargaining process, which included a timeline to submit all initial proposals on the table and details around employee release time. The current Memorandum of Understanding expires on March 25, 2023.The parties’ next bargaining session is scheduled January 24, 2023.

The parties agreed to ground rules for the bargaining process and the County presented the County’s total compensation survey as well as an overview of the County’s fiscal forecast.The parties are scheduled to meet for their third bargaining session on February 3, 2023.
ESC Labor Negotiations Summary
The County of Sonoma and ESC met for their third bargaining session on February 3, 2023. The County provided its initial economic proposal, which included a three-year term, immediate market equity adjustments, cost of living adjustments in each year of the contract, increased County medical contributions, and additional legacy-employee pension cost share provisions. The Union proposed modifications related to various contract sections, including staff development and wellness allowance, vacation savings plan, licensure reimbursements, premium pay for field work, and uniforms. The parties are scheduled to resume negotiations on February 7, 2023.
